A hydrating, oil-free, and soap-free gel to gently cleanse without stripping or disrupting the skin's delicate acid mantle (pH approx. 5.5). Green tea and chamomile hydrosols along with cold-processed aloe tones the pores while allowing natural, healthy oil production - helping to maintain a fresh, hydrated complexion.

With congestion-prone and sensitive skin, harsh cleansers and over-exfoliation can cause long-term damage to the skin. Focusing on supporting your skin's inflammatory response will help reduce breakouts and prevent scarring when eruptions do occur.

An update (pt. 3) + a suggestion

I’ve commented on this cleanser a few times (no exfoliation, apple-like scent, no glycols), but there’s something I’ve noticed between it and some other cleansers as of late. I figured that my combination skin was producing so much oil in certain places that I would eventually have to cave and get an oil cleanser because the oil-free one isn’t getting all of it. But then I tried a few cleansers with decyl glucoside as the surfactant—and I didn’t have that problem.

There are studies on its effectiveness in hard water and the results are really good regardless of skin sensitivity. And since much of the US has hard water, surfactants that aren’t as compatible with it as decyl glucoside and a few others are not going to clean as well as they should. And considering that it already produces a low lather, you get virtually nothing with hard water (I’m in the Midwest—limestone for days). You end up using way too much product for the price and still not get the clean you’re looking for.

I will say that I am a sucker for aloe-based cleansers and chamomile, so I still like the cleanser, but I think people would be happier with their results if it had decyl glucoside instead of the current ones. There wouldn’t be a need for multiple kinds of surfactants or a lot of it because it’s so effective.

> While I understand the suggestion, the surfactants selected were based on their ultra gentle function. Decyl glucoside is a stronger surfactant with higher foaming properties and technically not as stable - requiring a more specialized production process.
> It’s generally better to have a mixture of surfactants vs just 1 as it creates larger, more stable 'mixed micelles,' which are less able to penetrate the skin barrier, thereby reducing irritation while still efficiently lifting dirt and oil.
*Since our formulation style is inspired by corneotherapy principles, we look at surfactants that don’t have high foam to minimize barrier disruption. What you’re describing is a cleansing gel that fully emulsifies oil on the skin (common in clarifying cleansers). Which is not the goal of this formula or necessarily great for sensitive skin that needs to maintain their natural oil production. For those who like a deeper cleanse, we do have the cleansing oil (this works due to the fundamental chemistry principle of “like dissolves like”).
> Given this is one of our most popular products, I’m not too keen on making changes since so many people including myself love the gentleness.
*As for the cost based on volume - we are limited on the pump types for our violet/miron glass so a single pump output is that of a typical serum so using 3-4 pumps is equivalent to an output of a standard cleanser. Our costs are reflective of the ingredients used including herbs we grow and extract ourselves. It’s a labor extensive process and doesn’t really translate the same way as mass produced products.

Lovely gel cleanser

I love this gentle cleanser, I sometimes use it as a double cleanser with the nourishing oil cleanser. The gel cleans without stripping my face. The scent is light and non-irritating. I am generally on the more sensitive side and this product does not irritate my skin.

Best cleanser ever!

The best cleanser I’ve ever used and I’ve tried many over the years. It’s leaves my sensitive skin felling clean, but not dry. I use it as a second step after using the cleansing oil. My skin has never looked better!
