I love this oil cleanser! It smells and feels amazing, and is the perfect medium to give yourself a facial massage and release the tension in your face, neck, chest before removal.

Staple Cleanser

This has been in a staple in my skincare routine for years now. I love the way it makes my skin feel. It does a great job removing make up and leaves my skin feeling clean and hydrated.

Wonderful texture, smell a bit off-putting

I discovered this when my esthetician used it on me in a facial. I fell in love with the glorious texture that feels decadent and ritualistic. I decided I'd bring this into my daily routine, which is quite minimal and didn't even involve a cleanser until now. The oil is so rich and lovely, and it prompts me to massage my face, which in itself feels transformative. I dab my face to dry, and the oil leaves my face soft and moisturized, so I am using less of my other oils/moisturizers. The downside is I don't love the smell after I've been massaging the oil into my face, and I'm not even sure how to describe it. It is subtle and I seem to be more sensitive to smell than others, so maybe it's not an issue for others. I've also been noticing small zits here and there since I've started using a few weeks ago (unusual for me). Due to the short time period, the verdict is still out on whether it's helping to work out some deeper gunk that needs to come out or if this should be a couple-times-a-week product for my skin (currently I'm using every morning). Overall, due to these issues at this price point, I'm unsure if I'll buy again. I'm hopeful to break through the initial learning curve and to love this product since it does feel like such a treat going on.

Thank you for your review. For additional guidance on rinsable cleansing oils: Start with massaging dry skin to break down makeup, sunscreen and debris. Then splash the face with water to emulsify and continue to massage, this is what lifts the grime from the skin - I often see this step missed. Then rinse the product off and if you prefer a deeper cleanse and help with congestion, wipe with a damp cloth.

I understand that preferences and interpritations of aromas is extremly personal so not every product will connect with every person.
Using whole plant skincare can be a little different if you are not familar with how plant extracts smell or work with plants on a regular basis. This product contains no added essential oils, instead we use whole plant extracts and raw, unrefined oils so you are getting a more naturally scented product that has all the benefical nutrients in tact. Often, even in 'natural' skincare, ingredients are refined to remove the scent and color - which also removes many of the helpful phytocompounds. We do use essential oils in some of products but find many people want options without them due to skin senstivites (including myself).

I hope this adds clarity to the converation.
Kindly, Carolyn

A standout product!!

As an oil cleanser connoisseur, this is without a doubt the best I’ve tried! I use this to remove makeup in the evening and then as a nourishing am cleanse as well. The smell is delightful and the formula is concentrated so you don’t need much. Truly makes cleansing feel like a ritual!

Favorite cleanser

I am in love with the nourishing cleansing oil! It immediately calms my redness, smells divine, and acts as slip for face massage. 10/10
