Scent: Mesmerizing fusion of resinous, balsamic notes with bright citrus and woody undertones, creating an aromatic symphony that evokes a sense of profound tranquility.
Skin Types: Most including sensitive and those who may be pregnant. May not be suitable if you have allergies from tree resins.
Texture: Hydrating (noticeable humectants on the skin) and delivered in a lightweight mist. Full size offers a finer mist compared to the mini. Sedmiment is normal.
Frankincense, derived from the resin of trees belonging to the Boswellia genus, holds a rich history steeped in cultural, religious, and medicinal significance. Originating from regions across Africa, particularly Somalia and Ethiopia, frankincense has been traded for millennia. Ancient civilizations, including those in Egypt, utilized it in religious ceremonies and as an offering to deities. The Babylonians and Assyrians also prized frankincense for its aromatic properties. In Africa, the resin's trade routes were crucial to economic prosperity. As a medicinal substance, it found applications in traditional systems, believed to possess anti-inflammatory and antiseptic qualities. Today, frankincense continues to captivate with its profound legacy, both in spiritual practices and contemporary skincare, owing to its reputed skin-renewing properties.
Nettles, Lemon Balm, Elder Flower, and Plantain provide a menagerie of rich nutrients and minerals including Vitamins B and C, iron, copper, manganese, silicium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and manganese, as well it contains bioflavonoids, saponins, phenolic and caffeic acids, alkaloids and tannins.
- Minerals maintain regular skin functions such as lipid production and cellular turnover.
- Bioflavonoids/Phenolic compounds like ursolic acid and quercetin have an inhibitory effect on elastase and collagenase activities. In short, it slows down the enzymes that cause a breakdown of nutrients like Vitamin C and peptide bonds of collagen - thus helping to strengthen the elasticity of the skin.
- Saponins clarify the skin by accelerating biological activities including anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-oxidation, and anti-inflammatory.
Hydrate: Mist the face generously to saturate the skin. Follow up with a facial oil and/or balm of choice to seal in the hydration.
