Live Botanical grown and produced Jasmine enfleurage: We started by gathering fresh flowers from our garden and then laying them in glass trays of wet-milled, raw coconut oil (many traditional methods use animal fats like tallow). These are infused for 1-3 days. Every day adding new blooms while removing spent petals. This takes about 3 weeks to complete. The end result is a delicious, fragrant pomade that we incorporated into the balm.
Creamy Mango Butter imparts softness and works with the other oils to deeply moisturize. Working to improve elasticity to maintain plumpness.
Castor oil, a uniquely thick oil, also acts as a humectant to gather and hold onto hydration - critical to supporting dry lips and skin. We source this oil with sustainability and quality at top of mind. Grown by a co-op of small certified organic farms that control their own means of production to ensure fair wages for all who harvest.
Pomegranate sterols are a Live Botanical favorite to protect ultra-dry skin. It’s incredible at limiting transdermal water loss and improving hydration; clinically testing better than Dimethicone, Triethylhexanoin, Mineral Oil, and Lanolin. It can also improve overall density, a formulation approach to strengthen the thin, delicate skin of the lips. Improving the look and texture while limiting damage from environmental stressors.
Raw local Beeswax not only creates a seal but also adds micronutrients and is anti-bacterial to limit congestion around the lip area.
Unrefined golden Jojoba Oil absorbs quickly to restore balance to repair cracked lips and reduce irritation.
Unrefined Avocado Oil imparts a host of antioxidants to help protect against UV and other environmental factors. Along with jojoba oil, it absorbs quickly to maintain moisture while scavenging fee radicals that can lead to the thinning of lips.
A little pot with many possibilities…
On initial application, press your finger into the balm to create an indent, breaking through the top layer. This will make for a creamier application going forward.
- Apply a thick layer to lips day or night to repair or to simply soften and plump.
- Can be used on the facial skin to protect from more intensive dryness. Use as you would with any balm to seal in hydration as a final step in your ritual.
- As a pomade, a tiny amount can be applied to brows or beards to smooth and shape. The castor oil could help with hair growth for the brows.
- Though incredibly mild it can be used as aromatherapy. Apply a small amount to the top of your hands or wrist and breathe deeply to inhale the scent. This is a lovely step to use what’s left on your finger after applying the balm elsewhere.
