Emollient roots and finely ground grains protect irritated skin while providing gentle exfoliation to slough off dead skin. Many of the soothing plant properties from the polysaccharides are activated by water. These help reduce inflammation and strengthen the epidermis. This process also releases water soluble compounds like vitamins C to help brighten the skin and assist in collagen production and vitamin B to help the skin attain moisture. The result is clean, smooth skin that is better able to absorb serums and oils.
There is no addition of essential oils or florals so the scent is of natural roots and hint of matcha green tea. This helps those with sensitivities.
